Catching Up With Council

Posted by Jennifer Tolzmann on

Hello Faith!

On Tuesday, April 14, 2020, your Faith Lutheran Church Council Members connected digitally to get caught up with the work of the church.  With the challenge of the world around us, there is still work that needs to be done concerning the business of the church. These are the high points from our meeting.

  • We received an update from the Sacred Settlement Development Team. While the opportunity for team members to meet with city officials cannot happen face to face at this time, the team is still staying connected with those officials as exploration of plans moves forward. The staff from Settled continues to guide the work of the team as they look to explore details around preparing missionals for their work, engaging with a general contractor around site development, and thinking about next steps around communicating with the congregation, neighbors, and community.
  • We received exciting updates concerning the impact of online/streaming/radio broadcast worship experiences. See the Faith Blogs for more information
  • We discussed Faith’s application for funding from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). We are feeling positive about our acceptance for this program that will aid the church with payments for employees, mortgage, utilities, and other pieces. The details of this program and the church’s application will be shared more fully as we know more in the weeks ahead.
  • We celebrated the generous giving of church members over the last month. We give thanks and praise for the financial support some of our members are able to continue to provide. We pray for those who are in need and weighed down by financial challenges at this time. Please know that your Faith home stands with you in any ways we can.
  • The Council celebrated the ongoing work of staff and volunteers providing outreach, hope, and the message of God’s love in so many meaningful ways. God is good, and that goodness is playing out through the efforts of many.

This is a brief summary of our most recent meeting. Reach out through with any questions or comments you may have. Messages to that address go to all council members.

Peace and God’s Blessings to All!
