Catching Up With the Council- December 14, 2021

Posted by Jennifer Tolzmann on

On Tuesday, December 14, 2021, the Faith Church Council met on Zoom, for the regularly scheduled monthly meeting. After a devotion based on Isaiah 43: 18-19, “Do not remember the former things or consider the things of old. I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?” We shared a time of prayer for identified needs. Discussion points for the night included:

  • Finalization on the five core value statements that have been discerned through the Liberating Structures process. The Council plans to share these statements at the time of the annual meeting in January. A motion was made and approved to hold the next annual meeting on Sunday, January 23, 2021. More information will be coming in the near future.
  • An update on the GO & DO LIKEWISE stewardship campaign for 2022. It is not too late for congregational members to return their statements of intent for the campaign. Contact the church office if you are ready to do that. Full results will be available with the sharing of the 2022-planned budget in January.

o   Council offers thanks to all those who have submitted intentions for 2022 and to all who have worked so diligently to bring this campaign to life. Amen!

  • An update on the St. Paul Area Synod 3-Year Capital Campaign, Planting Hope. Leaders have been identified to chair Faith’s involvement. We thank them for stepping up in this service. More information will be coming in 2022.
  • An update on Faith’s work in becoming a Circle of Welcome congregation. Thanks be to those who have stepped up for training and participation.

The Council offers thanks and praise to God for our staff and all the ways they provide information, compassion, and care for our congregation and its work.

  • Pastor John, Pastor Steve, and Deacon Nina have schedules full to overflowing, and reach out with love and support to many.
  • Joyce keeps the ship running smoothly for all things financial and with building maintenance.
  • Deanna manages the office with grace and efficiency.
  • Pam is a record keeping whirlwind.
  • Linda, Alan, and Dean keep the music programs vibrant and flexible.
  • Dennis communicates in exciting and informative ways.
  • Cathy and Amy are providing awesome youth experiences.
  • Jean lends a helping hand in outreach to all.
  • Duane, Shana, and Ginger keep Faith ship-shape, safe, and clean.

The Council offers thanks and praise to God for:

  • Members who step out in many ways to be God’s hands and feet to those in need!
  • Members who beautify our building and grounds, inside and out!
  • Members who work technology miracles on a regular basis!
  • Members who pray, study, make music, teach, and reach out in this community!

Faith Lutheran is ACTIVE, GENEROUS, and CARING! Thanks be to God! Amen!
