Faith Ministry Stories

Cultivating Good and Sharing Joy

Posted by Faith Lutheran Staff on

Ministry is vibrant and alive at Faith, even as we remain physically distant. We celebrate God’s Spirit leading us this past week.

The world connects through music and in this pandemic we are singing alone.  The joy in music comes from building community through making music together.

Faith choir invites you to join in “Bring the Sing Home” hosted by Minnesota Public Radio.  Minnesotans across the state join in for a moment of song, at 5:55 pm every Friday. At that time, friends everywhere are encouraged to step outside their front door or open a window to join their neighbors in a mass rendition of one song. On May 1, the song is “This Land is Your Land.” Songs are simultaneously broadcasted on Classical MPR, The Current and MPR news, welcoming listeners everywhere to sing loud and proud.

Sing knowing that you are not alone. Fair Choir is singing from our homes. Join us and continue to build community through song! Find links to stations participating, words to this week's song, and even chords for you to grab your guitar and play along. Take a picture or video of yourself or your family singing and email it to

We also celebrate encouragement.  Thank you for the letters, cards, texts and emails of encouragement to Faith Staff.  We need and appreciate your support!  They lift us up as a staff, cultivating good and sharing joy.  Here is a small sample of your encouraging words.

"Thanks, from both of us.  You are a bright light to us.  Blessings."

“Thank you for all you do for our congregation. We wish you and your families good health during this very strange time.”

"I do love your Sunday presentations!!!! And on location, too."

“I’m really going to miss the Easter service-one of my favorites!! Please tell Pastor John to take care of himself. We really need him now!!”

“Thank you for all that you are doing to keep people connected and keep the church going during this time. Even though much of it is happening behind the scenes, know that you all are appreciated. The church will be stronger on the other side of this.”

"Your prayer last night was beautiful, and I absolutely love your prayer minutes.  They are so accessible and easy and nonthreatening to do that people are not putting up the usual roadblocks such as I don't know how to pray.  I am praying, my favorite deacon, that you will continue to emulate that prayer is like breathing--you can do it anywhere and anyway as it is already a part of each of us.  Prayer is breathing."

Thank you so much for the work that you do so that we, as a Congregation, can worship together.

"Your prayer lab minute videos are pure gold. Especially in these strange times..."

“We appreciate all the hard work going into the Sunday services. We enjoy seeing Alan Ball at the organ. Can’t see that from the pew!”

“We also used your prayer suggestion on Easter. Our family got all connected by phone and gave examples of what we were grateful for. A-Z closed with a prayer and had a great Easter in spite of the circumstances.  Thank you!”

“God’s blessings during this challenging time. Thank you for all you do for us.”

As you witness ministry happening in your home or neighborhood, let us know so we can share your good news! Email
