Thank you to Faith Member’s Karen Alm, Shannon Dunn, Gwen Hanson, Connie Hendrickson, Kerrie Holschbach,  Alisa Kocian, Kate Koschack, Ted Lautzenheiser, Nancy Mollner, David Rachie, Melanie Ross, Patty Swanson, Bill and Jill Somrock, and Ellen Van Tassel for hearing the call and submitting proposals.

The proposals submitted ranged from $100 to $10,000 for a total of $43,700 requested.  All of the people presenting grants were requested to attend a meeting in April to assist in making the decisions on what projects to fund.  Each applicant was given 5 minutes to present and a 2 minute opportunity to answer questions.  All applicants ranked each proposal on a 1 to 10 scale.  A miraculous thing happened at the meeting.  All applicants saw value in each other’s proposals and indicated they would understand if they did not get funded.

The proposals all went back to the committee of Betty Hestekin, Linda Ziemer and Pastor John to use the applicant’s rankings and recheck the criteria.  The decision was made to partially fund every proposal.  All applicants agreed to proceed with partial funding.

The projects are as follows:  Bird House Mania, Faith parade, Feed My Starving Children, Food for His Children, Forest Lake Early Childhood Special Education, Hungry Minds Need Food, Intergenerational Community Garden, Kilkenny Court Bible Study, Lochlan’s Lights, Manna Ministry, Praise Teams In The Park, Rangers Supporting Rangers, Refugee Outreach, Sex Trafficking, and Youth Fishing Day.

As the projects progress we will be sharing our stories about carrying out God’s Legacy.  Stay tuned, you won’t want to miss how these Faith Member’s have modeled how to be good Stewards, while serving our communities.
