Celebrations at Faith: March 4, 2021

We might not be able to be together in-person, but Faith still seeks to a church for the sake of the world!

 

One Year On

It’s hard to believe, but we are coming up to the one-year anniversary of worshipping in a different way.  A year ago next week, COVID-19 began to spread and everything closed down and that included worship.  Since then, we have resumed in-person worship with all of the coronavirus precautions, but the majority of the Faith Lutheran community worships online.  We are so thankful of all the people who have stepped up and found how we can still worship while being socially distanced. Our tech team, musicians and countless volunteers have made a difference.  As the vaccines ramp up, we will see changes yet again to how we worship.  During all the change, we want to thank the Faith Lutheran community for your patience and willingness to be church at a difficult time.

Welcome, Dennis!

We welcome Dennis Sanders to Faith.  Dennis is the new Communications Manager who oversees Faith’s communication including the website, newsletters and social media. Dennis brings over 15 years of experience in communications and is an ordained minister serving a church in Mahtomedi. We are thrilled to have Dennis on staff to help us improve our communications!

Laptop Update

Our Laptop ministry continues to make a difference! The tech team is refurbishing old laptops to help people in the community that need a computer for job searches or distance learning. So far the team received 28 used laptops and have sent out 9 refurbished with 19 more in progress!  If you have an old Windows laptop, consider dropping it off during office hours! Come in Door #1 at circle drive and leave your laptop and power supply on the table provided. The FLURB team will securely erase your hard drive, upgrade your machine with a new Solid State Drive, memory, and a new battery if needed, install Windows 10 and find it a new home.

Reach Out and Touch

Faithful volunteers continue to reach out and connect with those in our community who are homebound. We recently got a thank-you call from the daughter-in-law of one of these recipients - who shared "he loves getting cards from Faith members in the mail! I still have to read them to him, but he loves them. It is so great that we have people sending cards during all of this." Thank you to our wonderful and caring community!

FaithGroups

As we journey through these 40 days together, we lift up the work God is doing in our weekly 45-minute FaithGroups gathering. We continue to be brought together Sundays at 4:00pm to connect around the Lenten preaching texts (Sunday and Wednesday), Awesome Mystery devotional pieces, for a brief and helpful reminder of our place in the life of God.
