This week marks the 1 year anniversary of the opening of the St. Andrew’s Family Shelter in Hugo.  Faith Lutheran has been a partner on the journey in developing this ministry and providing volunteers over the last year.  The “Hugo House” hosted a birthday party to celebrate the incredible ministry in 1 year.  It was a wonderful celebration of staff, current residents, and volunteers from 12 partner churches in the area that make this thing happen.

In the last year, Faith was part of the community that helped:

• House 17 families
• Provide 730 meals
• Be involved with 2 Eagle Scout Projects and one Gold Scout Project
• Provide 1,200+ volunteers
• With 1,248 hours of dinner shifts
• And 4,745 hours of overnight shifts
• Pour 400 gallons of milk
• Fry 647 pounds of hamburger
• Give 55 people warm beds
• Provide 15 gallons of shampoo.

But most importantly, we have helped give people hope and shown an entire community what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.
