Faith Ministry Stories

Ministry is Alive at Faith

Posted by Faith Lutheran Staff on

Ministry is vibrant and alive at Faith, even as we remain physically distant. We celebrate God’s Spirit leading us this past week.

1,000 people joined Faith on-line streaming and many more listened on the radio on Easter as we joyfully celebrated the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. All those viewers and listeners tuned in... purposefully.  They did not come to sing in the choir.  Or get a treat at Faith Break.  Or bring their kids to Sunday School.  Or visit with their friends.  Or because Grandma made them.  Everyone that tuned in was there purposefully to be with God.

Dozens of Faith members shared photos of Easter past and Easter present so all who livestream can share memories and see how we continue to joyfully worship from home.

Volunteers wrote cards, made phone calls, and sent kids' artwork to all Faith homebound over the Easter weekend. Some received mail from multiple families!

Volunteers like Sandy Anderberg are putting their creative skills to work sewing masks to donate. (In her spare time, Sandy also plays Easter hymns on her home organ.)

Dean Jensen, Ted Lautzenheiser and Daniel Diemer are printing 3D face shield frames for medical professionals. They have already delivered 70 shields to grateful doctors and nurses at St. Joe's Hospital and Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul. Together with others across the nation they have produced and delivered over 8,000 face shields to medical professionals in need. If anyone in the congregation is in need of shields, please contact More volunteers are welcome!

Faith church council met using video conferencing and continue to provide oversight of the life and activities of our congregation during this unprecedented time.

We kicked off a new Wednesday night series for all ages: Livin’ on the Edge, The Dangerous Drama of Being a Disciple. Join us on-line, Wednesdays at 6:30, to see how the first generation of followers of the Way navigated governments, faith and belief, different cultures, imprisonment, even death…all to share the good news of God’s love.

As you witness ministry happening in your home or neighborhood, let us know so we can share your good news! Email

And finally, a word of encouragement from one of our Easter viewers: Thank you so much for broadcasting church services this past week. I haven't been to Faith in years since I moved away. I grew up going to Faith and the missing of it has been more apparent during this pandemic. Thank you for beautiful services that have again awoken my Christian heart.
