Forest Lake Area Mission for Families (FLAMF)

Forest Lake Area Mission for Families (FLAMF), founded in 2012, is a partnership of Forest Lake area churches that has been formed to help local families experiencing homelessness. School district #831 officials estimate that between 40-50 students report themselves and their families as being without stable housing at any given time.  FLAMF's mission is to provide caring support, encouragement, resources and shelter for these families. Faith Lutheran Church is honored to support this ministry.  Click here for more information.

BeFriender Ministry
Are you going through some stressful times and would like someone to talk to that is a good listener and not judgmental?
BeFrienders can help.
  • BeFrienders are trained lay people who make themselves available to listen and support people experiencing many of life's emotional and stressful times.

  • BeFrienders can meet with you through home visits, telephone calls, at church or a convenient location, BeFriending visits can be as often as needed to help you through those trying times. They could happen once or last for years depending on your needs.

  • Faith's BeFrienders are available to our congregation, family, and friends - anyone in need - and it's free!

Sometimes just talking makes things better.

If you are in need or know someone that could use a BeFriender please contact

Parish Nurse Jean Peikert at or call her at 651-464-3323 (extension 120)

 Caregiver Ministry
"Do not forget to do good and to share, for with such services God is well pleased!" Hebrews 13:16

The Caregivers of Faith provide a few special "services."  Caregivers meet with their care receivers over coffee and conversation at their home or provide a time to get out of the house and do some needed shopping.  Communion is served at Kilkenny Senior Apartments, The Arbors/Birchwood and The Meadows for members of Faith.

For more information contact Mary Weaver at 651-464-8491.

 Parish Nurse Ministry
The Parish Nurse Ministry functions as a part of the pastoral ministry team serving the congregation and the community by bringing an approach of wellness, wholeness and prevention.
Some of the ministries that are available include: blood pressure screening at church and in the community; visits to homes, hospitals and nursing homes; and the distribution of communion to people unable to attend church. Follow-up visits are also done after hospitalizations for people who need an advocate and for people with terminal illnesses.
Education is also a part of the ministry. CPR classes are periodically available, articles of health care issues appear regularly in Forward in Faith and handouts are available in the Parish Nurse Office.
Contact Jean Peikert, Parish Nurse, 651-464-3323, for more information.
