Meet the New Teachers at LADC!

The community of Faith welcomes two new teachers to Lake Area Discovery Center here at Faith.  Let's learn a little bit more about Bev and Lily!

Ms. Bev

This is my first-year teaching at Faith Lutheran LADC. I am excited and looking forward to the opportunity of working with the children and the families of LADC. Proud Mother of three adult children and two grandchildren. I love kids, it fills my heart with joy to help them learn and grow.

While my children were growing up, I was a licensed daycare provider in my home for 9 years. Returning to college I achieved an Associate’s Degree in Business Management specializing in Accounting from Rasmussen. After working in the business field for years I found that my passion is working with children.

I enjoy the outdoors in summer as much as possible which includes golfing, camping, fishing, four-wheeling, and biking. In the winter I like to read, watch movies and spend time with my family. I feel very fortunate to work alongside such dedicated and warm-hearted teachers.

Ms. Lily

I feel so blessed to have joined the Faith Lutheran Lake Area Discovery Center as a Site Director and Kinderstart Teacher in June 2021. Words can't express enough how grateful I am to be surrounded by such a great group of teachers and the church admin team!

 

A little bit about my education and work background. I began working with children during high school as a VBS summer camp counselor/ babysitter and fell in love with the job. From then on, I dedicated my time to working towards several college degrees. I have a bachelor's degree in Education Studies, a master's degree in Education Leadership Administration, three classes shy from completing my MBA, and a Human Resource Management certificate. I spent the past 8 years teaching in Pre-K through 3rd grade at a private school in Minnetonka. After gaining experience as a teacher, I took a role as Assistant Director for KinderCare, then moved on to New Horizons Academy as a preschool teacher where I have spent my time during the 2020-2021 school year. 

 

On a personal note, my husband Justin and I live in Stillwater with our three boys: Ashton (10th grade), Isaac (8th grade), and Drew (6th grade). When I am not in “mommy mode,” I enjoy being outdoors, exploring new places, and being crafty.
