Thanksgiving

Posted by Jean Peikert, RN on November 20, 2017

Thanksgiving is almost here. It is one of my favorite days. It’s a time when we can focus on all the blessings that are ours in America. I want to list a few things that I am grateful for:

I am grateful that I was born in America and had parents that loved and served God. I am grateful for my children who are wonderful, interesting and compassionate adults. For good health and a wonderful caring husband, I am grateful. I am grateful for the gift of freedom and the men and women who fight for the gift. Each day I thank God for the gift of life, the beauty of the sunrise and sunset and the beauty all around us. I am grateful for my church, the gift of music and the freedom to worship as we choose.

For all these gifts and many more I say, thank you, Lord.

I recently read this: “When you attend church, it’s not an ordinary act. It is something tremendous; you take a stand for faith and for the spiritual interpretation of life. You testify and witness to the faith that is in you.”
