The Pilgrim at Home

Posted by Dave Cagle on June 10, 2020

With the current COVID crisis and people sheltering at home you may wonder what being a pilgrim and how making a pilgrimage is even possible, but it may be even more important in our spiritual focus and growth.  We are all on journeys – journeys of faith, journeys in relationships, journeys of discovering what we love and who we really are.  When we are able to bring the intention of the pilgrim to these journeys our everyday lives can be transformed.

You probably consider the practice of pilgrimage in the traditional sense where it involves a journey to far-off sacred sites, but you really don’t have to leave home to begin living like a pilgrim.  All you need do is begin practicing pilgrimage every day to see your life as a journey and your role as a seeker of the sacred in the ordinary.

You may be ready for the path of pilgrimage if respond positively to these questions:

  • Are you often the curious one in the room who is always asking questions and looking for ways to dig deeper?
  • Do you want your life to reflect what matters most to you?
  • Are you drawn to mystery and wonder; finding more value in the search than just accepting easy answers?
  • Do you believe that life is filled with meaning, even on the most ordinary of days?
  • Do you feel that the journeys you have taken so far are what makes you who you are today?

Join us for online Prayer Lab on Sunday, June 21st at 10:00 am to begin your journey as a pilgrim at home! More information available here.
