Faith Ministry Stories

Celebrating Red Suspenders

Posted by Faith Lutheran Staff on

Ministry is vibrant at Faith, even as we remain physically distant. We celebrate God's Spirit leading us this past week.

We are thankful for our newly formed "Be Well" team that is carefully assessing how and when we will re-open our facility. Keep the members of this team in your prayers: Deacon Nina Joygaard, Linda Burk, Mike Slavik, Deanna Ramberg, John Chauss, and Jennifer Tolzmann.  Pray for wisdom, discernment, patience and perseverance for all facing difficult decisions due to the pandemic.

We joyfully look forward to Faith Choir sharing newly recorded music on Sunday, May 24, during our 9:00 service. Choir members are recording themselves singing from home. Linda Burk will electronically mix their voices together. What a treat for the ears this will be! They are singing "Shelter Me" by Jan Michael Joncas. It's a popular song-prayer of comfort for this time in the pandemic. According to Linda Burk, "The choir is hip singing it right now!"

Sometimes it's the little things that bring us joy. "Old Guys" Bible study has been meeting virtually on Microsoft Teams. In prior weeks, the grid view only allowed participants to view 4 members at a time. This week it expanded to a 6 member view, enhancing the ability with these faithful men to connect with one another and dig into Scripture together.

And last but not least, we celebrate red suspenders.  Parish Nurse Jean Peikert called Faith member Lloyd Sather this week to check in on him. When Lloyd told Jean that he needed suspenders but didn't have any at home, the Peikerts delivered some spare suspenders from their own home. Caring for our neighbors at its best!

As you witness ministry happening in your home or neighborhood, or as you share God's grace with others, let us know so we can celebrate with you! Email
