Faith's Mission Grant Program encourages members of our community to respond to God's call. Financial grants are awarded to projects that serve others and are relational in nature. The grant program challenges all of us to consider, "What is God calling you to do in this moment and in this community." Faith member Karen Alm answered that call by inviting others to a Feed My Starving Children mobile pack event in Forest Lake. Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit organization that tackles world hunger by sending volunteer-packed, nutritious meals to 70 countries, where they’re used to operate orphanages, schools, clinics and feeding programs to break the cycle of poverty.
April 26, 2019 was our time to pack. Six volunteers from Faith helped pack 191 boxes containing or 6,876 meals at one shift. I was the only one who packed before. The others were apprehensive of what they volunteered for, but after said it was a fun rewarding experience! Four other Faith volunteers packed at another shift.
Thank you, Karen, for applying for the grant and for your advocacy for Feed My Starving Children. Way to go Faith volunteers!
