Faith's Mission Grant Program encourages members to develop partnerships that serve others in our community.  Financial grants are awarded to projects that help someone outside the walls of Faith Lutheran Church, are relational in nature and inspire others to serve in Christ's name. The grant program challenges all of us to consider, "What is God calling you to do in this moment and in this community?"  Faith member Rebecca Fahning answered that call by advocating for special needs supplies for Forest Lake Elementary.

According to Rebecca, "Children with special needs can be productive and important members of the community. Yet they sometimes need additional support to be successful in the classroom. Simple supplies can create a better learning environment. Supplies can enhance learning for all children and reduce interruptions for teachers and other students."

Andrew Bowes, a Special Education Teacher at Forest Lake Elementary was delighted to add "Stabili" stools, a ball chair and bean bag chair to his classroom.  The stools and ball chair help wiggly students focus and the bean bag soothes and provides comfort to students feeling overwhelmed.  "Forest Lake Elementary received the items purchased through the grant money, and our students are enjoying them full-heartedly. Thank you so much!"
