Unexpected Hospitality

Posted by Joyce Getchell on August 08, 2017

At 8:30 am on Tuesday two transcontinental cyclists pedaled into Faith looking for water. They camped the night prior in a park with no water access and needed to hydrate.

From New Zealand, Kel and Sharon Fowler are “fulfilling a dream of going on a wee relaxing bike ride.” They recently spent over a decade in Lithuania as missionaries. One of their sponsors was a Lutheran church from Iowa.

We chatted about the next grocery store on their ride, shared faith stories and reflected on God’s grace.  Check out their blog. What a lovely way to share hospitality and the comforts of our facility.

A quote from their blog: “A journey of 4,000 miles begins with a stack of pancakes and one turn of the pedals”   David Barnas
