Faith Lutheran has a wonderful opportunity to partner with "Walking With a Purpose" and St. Paul homeless community to provide much-needed pillar candles to the unsheltered.

 

Pillar candles are among the most requested items by Todd at "Walking With a Purpose". Candles are the number one source of light for homeless people and in the winter can also provide some heat. As the cost of pillar candles continues to rise the donations in this area have dropped dramatically causing a perpetual shortage. "This Little Light" takes your old donated wax and recycles it into new pillar candles for the homeless community.

 

You can participate in this long-term sustainable project by bringing your old candle wax to Faith. All candle wax will be accepted, from birthday candles to large decorative candles. There is no need to remove wicks as the wax is strained.

 

There are three ways to participate in this project.

1. You can collect and donate your used wax
2. Make a cash donation towards the purchase of bulk wax (Checks may be written to Faith with "This Little Light" written in the memo, or you can go to this link and give online.)
3. donate new 4"-6" pillar candles.

 

There is a box on the table by the Church office for your donations.
